ARLINGTON, VA, October 15, 2019: Yesterday’s Election Day marked a day of change for Republicans in the commonwealth of Kentucky. Two candidates in particular—Daniel Cameron for Attorney General and Michael Adams for Secretary of State—brought in waves of excitement with their impressive victories.
Daniel Cameron, a former legal counsel for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, made history, becoming the first African American to ever win the office in the state and the first Republican Attorney General to be elected since 1948. Once sworn into office, he will become the second African American to hold a statewide elected office in the Bluegrass state. Cameron ran on the platform of reestablishing the office’s credibility by defending and upholding the laws, which he reiterated in his acceptance speech last night. TLC Political was incredibly proud to have been a part of the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) team and support Cameron’s winning campaign.
In the Kentucky Secretary of State race, Michael Adams spurred quite the upset with his GOP flip win. His hard line on issues and platform of making it easy to vote and hard to cheat led him to defeat his opponent, Democrat Heather French Henry. Adams will succeed Democrat Allison Lundergan Grimes. Following the triumphant election, Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Austin Chambers was quoted, saying “This is a huge win for the commonwealth of Kentucky. Mike Adams’ incredible come-from-behind victory is a huge upset to Democrats across the country.” TLC Political was honored to partner with RSLC this election cycle on Adams’ successful race.
